Blog - Floaters and Diminished Vision

A 45year old male patient presented with floaters and diminished vision in right eye since 10days. He is a known diabetic. There was a history of trauma in right eye 1 year back and underwent cataract surgery in the same eye . His best corrected visual acuity was CF-CF in right eye and 6/9 in left eye. On examination anterior segment in the right eye showed intraocular lens , left eyeshowed early lens changes. Fundus evaluation showed right eye subtotal rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with macula off , giant retinal tear of 180 degrees in temporal quadrant  and a small retinal hole in inferotemporal quadrant in left eye . Patient was advised and underwent 27gauge pars plana vitrectomy with endolaser and silicon oil injection in right eye. He was advised barrage laser in left eye.
